Molds are microscopic organisms whose purpose in the ecosystem is to break down dead materials. Molds are most commonly found on plants, dry leaves, and on almost every organic material. Some molds are useful, such as those used to make antibiotics and cheese. Some molds in our area such as Aspergillus, Pencillium, and Stachybotrys are more common in relation to affecting our health.
Molds reproduce using spores, which are lightweight particles that are released and float on air currents until the find a suitable place to grow. Mold is most likely to grow where there is water or dampness. To the human eye this can appear to be a discoloration such as a black, green, blue, pink, brown, or white in color.
When moldy material becomes damaged spores can be released in the air. Exposure can occur if we inhale the spores, handle the spores, or ingest the spores. This can cause illness in some people.
We normally see mold where they can have a food source to establish colonies and reproduce. Factors such as light, air turbulence, and temperature also effect growth. In your home or business, a food source is always present in the form of drywall, paper, wood, and basic dust. Only a short period of high humidity is necessary to begin the growth of mold spores.
If your home or business has mold growth, Pro Clean’s staff has extensive mold backgrounds and certifications. We use the latest practices and techniques to remediate the mold from the areas of concern. Mark Smith is a certified AMRT by the IICRC. This means he has had a great deal of experience handling mold claims and has had extensive training in the subject. Mark has been with Pro Clean for over 8 years and is our Restoration and Remediation Manager. Any concerns or questions can be directed to Mark at mark@procleanme.com or by calling any of our numbers listed on this website.
Testimonial:
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your company coming to our rescue, when we had a steam shower on for six weeks and the resulting growth of mold. Walking into your home and seeing the ceiling lying on the floor and the attic filled with mold makes you realize there will be many months of decisions and challenges. After several months of no progress I called Pro Clean and talked with Mark Smith, stating that the process had been a nightmare. Mark responded that Pro Clean would step in and try to make the process as pleasant and quick as possible, which has been the case. I have been very pleased with the work, the communication, and the responses to changes along the way. I would recommend Pro Clean to anyone who needed the type of services they provide.
Sincerely,
Dr. Harry W. Jarrett
